Sources for Science Fair Information

The Walnut Hills H.S. Library has MANY books with hundreds of ideas for science fair projects, all of which are shelved at call number 507 in the library and may be checked out overnight. The following websites also have suggestions on projects for science fairs. When you find science fair information on the web, be sure that it is from a reputable source (schools, libraries, or scientific organizations are best: look for .org or .edu in the URL) and is appropriate for your grade level and project requirements.

Encyclopedia Britannica- This has great explanations of basic concepts in science, with good diagrams and pictures. Password required from home: ask in the library.From home: user name: infohio; password: explore

SIRS Discoverer- Full text magazine and newspaper articles on many topics; including science. This is a great source of project-oriented information. A username and password to access the INFOhio Electronic Resources is available from the school library media center. Due to reglations from INFOHIO, we can no longer provide this to you online.

Newsbank- This has magazine and newspaper articles for the past ten years, and includes many science magazines. This is a good place to look if you want to find out if your science idea or topic has been in the news. From home: user name:7675; password: 7675
