The Strongest Bridge Contest

How? Materials: 100 craft sticks (from teacher) and glue ONLY! Sticks may be cut, drilled, filed, and/or sanded. Your bridge cannot be coated with any substance, including paint, stain, or glue.

Maximum Mass: 160 grams

Length: "River" to be crossed is 9" wide. Therefore, your bridge must be longer than 9"!!

Width: Your bridge musat be a minimum of 3" from front to back. Bridge must be wide enough so that it does not fall over when weights are placed on it. There needs to be an area or setup ythat allows a 6 3/8" circular weight to sit securely. Other weights will be placed on top of this weight.

Height: The top of your bridge where the weights will be placed needs to be at least 1 and 1/2" above the cement blocks.

Identification: You will need to write your name(s) somewhere on the bridge in ink or marker so that it can be easily read.

NOTE:

1. Observe the setup that bridges will be placed on. Take any measurements you want.

2.You may NOT use ANY popsicle sticks for supports under your bridge.
